Premier League transfer news and rumours
Paul Pogba: Manchester United to Juventus
Tuttosport reports that Italian champions Juventus want to bring Paul Pogba back to the club as they set their sights on winning the Champions League.
Manchester United midfielder Pogba, who has also been linked with Barcelona this summer, is wanted by Juventus as part of a “sensational” double swoop. The Italians want Pogba and Real Madrid left-back Marcelo in join Cristiano Ronaldo in Turin.
Pogba’s frosty relationship with United boss Jose Mourinho could see the French World Cup winner leave. ESPN writer Mark Ogden says Mourinho is “powerless” in the Old Trafford “soap opera” as “Pogba holds the aces”.
Ogden writes: “The recent toning down of Mourinho’s language towards Pogba is perhaps a sign of his realisation that there can only be one winner in what has become a two-way battle of egos.”

While Pogba is being linked with a move to Juventus, United may raid the Italians for their own big-name signing. The Red Devils could make a January move for Argentina forward Paulo Dybala. (Sky Sports via Calciomercato)

Leicester’s ‘statement of intent’
Ben Chilwell may be a target for Tottenham, but Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel believes the club are making a statement to their Premier League rivals by keeping their star players. England defender Harry Maguire this week signed a new five-year deal and Schmeichel said: “It is very nice news. For him to commit himself for five years is a great sign. It is a statement of intent from the owners. They want to keep all the best players. We are not in a position where we have to sell.” (Daily Mail)

I know I have two years of my contract left but I hope to stay more years in the Premier League.” (Sky Sports)
