Poundland launches a new paint range just in time for lockdown DIY projects

Earlier this year, lots of people got stuck into DIY projects to help pass the extra time at home.

Now with the second lockdown just hours away, it’s likely many more are planning what home improvement jobs can be tackled over the next month.

The good news is that Pep&Co at Poundland has just brought out a new paint range that will make redecorating all the more appealing – and the best part is that it doesn’t break the bank.

A Poundland shopper noticed the new paint range in his local store and shared a photo to the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

The collection includes an on-trend teal, a statement mustard yellow, a crowd-pleasing pebble grey, a neutral magnolia, brilliant white and green velvet. One litre pots are priced at £3 each – but brilliant white and magnolia are also available in 2.5L for £3.

The design of the paint cans have similarities to high-end brand Farrow & Ball and shoppers have noticed this comparison and pointed out that the Poundland cans are £26 cheaper.

The teal and mustard colours are also very similar to the shades which feature in the Farrow & Ball catalogue – so Poundland’s paint is a great dupe if you’re not wanting to spend that much.

Some shoppers were slightly sceptical about the copycat paint.

One commented on the Facebook post: ‘I was debating getting the green velvet yesterday for a feature wall. Anbody know how good they are?’

To which someone else replied: ‘Well they’re basing their packaging on Farrow & Ball. That doesn’t say great things to me.’

While grey paints have been big in the interior design world the past few years, it seems warm neutrals and brighter colours are becoming popular for 2021.

After all, Dulux’s 2021 colour of the year is Brave Ground – a soft, warm clay tone.
