Police nab 83 suspects in Benue

BENUE State Police Commissioner Mukaddas Garba said his men and officers arrested 83 suspected criminals and recovered 13 guns between December 20 and January 2021.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday in his office on the success recorded in crime fighting, he said between December 2020 and January 5, his men carried out special operations in Otukpo, Makurdi, Gboko and Daudu towns and arrested suspects with arms and ammunition.

The suspected criminals include armed robbers, motorcycle snatchers, kidnappers  and cultists, among others.

He said the suspects would be arraigned after investigation.

“Let me use this medium to thank the good people of Benue State for their conduct and cooperation with the police during the festivity. I assure you that the command is committed to the fight against crime,” Garba said.
