GOOD Morning Britain fans were left up in arms as regular presenter Piers Morgan was a no-show on Monday.
The hugely opinionated anchorman, 54, was not present on the sofa of the ITV breakfast series, where many expected him to discuss Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s eye-opening documentary on their trip to Africa and life as Royals.
Regular viewers took to Twitter after spotting how Piers, as well as co-host Susanna Reid, had been replaced by Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.
One quizzed on social media: “Have I missed it? Has Piers been sacked? #gmb.”
Another added: “See Piers Morgan is still on leave.
“It seems they do at least want to give #MeghanAndHarry a break from him being on ITV after their documentary last night though.”
A fan then questioned: “Where are Piers and Susanna ?? It’s not school holidays yet.”
One then bluntly put: “S**t show without Piers. Just nonsense.”
Another celebrated the holiday switch up and put: “Wow!!! Ben and Kate on a Monday!!!! Can’t wait!!!! #GMB.”
One shared their views, and added: “It’s really ben & kate for good morning britain on a monday morning. we won today #GMB.”
A Piers fan then squealed: “Bring back Piers! Calling for him to be sacked over that stupid incident is madness!”
Almost a quarter of a million people voted, with 60% of the 482,270 fans opting for Piers to get the boot.
Piers then insisted that the staggering response had actually secured his role in the future, bragging: “The poll was 80% in my favour after the day we ran it and then these weird people in Los Angeles, very, very demented, hysterical people, got hold of the poll and they’ve now turned it into a 60/40 split against me.
“Here’s the thing, I think they genuinely think they’re going to get rid of me and that’s what makes this more the funnier.”
Yet it appears viewers need not have worried, as Piers and Susanna are simply taking a break for the half term holiday.
Piers will be back behind his desk alongside Susanna in three weeks’ time.
Until then, Kate and Ben will continue to keep his seat warm.
