Pen15’s Maya Erskine and This Is Us actor Michael Angarano are expecting their first child—and used the news to urge Americans to vote in tomorrow’s presidential election.

Maya, 33, who plays a fictional version of her 13-year-old self in the Hulu comedy, shared her pregnancy snap on Instagram.

The brunette’s baby bump is clearly visible beneath her long-sleeved black shirt, paired with leopard print leggings. Michael, 32, is crouched in front of the camera in a white tee.

Maya’s caption reads: ‘When two becomes three. And please vote #bidenharris2020.’

It looks like the couple has kept their news well under wraps. Their celebrity friends were shocked, perhaps no one more so than Hunger Games star Jack Quaid who commented: ‘HOLY S**T WHAAAAAT?!?! Congrats you guys!!!’

Makeup artist Geeta Bass wrote: ‘What??? That’s so exciting!! Congratulations to you guys!’

And Director Jeff Chan suggested a moniker for the bundle of joy: ‘Name it Jeff.’

The second season of Maya’s smash coming-of-age comedy Pen15, which she penned alongside Anna Konkle, sees the actresses dabble in nostalgia as they relive their year 2000-era middle school experience.

Though Anna and Maya are in their 30s, they chose to cast real-life teens as their cast-mates and co-stars, resulting in some funny moments on set.

As Maya explained to Metro US: ‘We were aiming to try to be as authentic as possible in our portrayal of being 13. We did everything we could to ground the show, the writing and our acting in reality as much as possible. So having real kids to play off of was really helpful for us.’

Anna added: ‘By the end of the shoot, I think they finally kind of got it, the 13-year-old actors.

‘Because in the beginning, when we were working with them I think they were still coming to terms with these older people who were trying to be like them.

‘I don’t think they really had any idea what they were getting into at first, but they were all so great about it.’
