The Frenchman broke his silence on the Portuguese’s sacking following his side’s 5-1 thumping of Cardiff.
The World Cup winner returned to the starting line up under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and set up two goals in the sensational win.
Pogba clashed several times with Mourinho, including one very public training ground disagreement back in September.
Mourinho stripped the 25-year-old of his captaincy duties and dropped him on more than one occasion towards the end of his reign at Old Trafford.
Moments after Mourinho’s dismissal, Pogba posted a picture of him smiling to social media with the words “caption this”.
The message was quickly deleted. It later transpired to be a poorly timed sponsored post.
But now Pogba has actually spoken out on his boss and withheld any criticism.
“We won trophies with Jose and I want to thank him for that,” said Pogba following United’s win over Cardiff.
“He makes me improve, as a person as well and that’s it. That’s the past, I went to thank him for that.
“I’m sure that is the same of all the players.”
