THE heartbroken family of a Brit found dead in the pool of a villa owned by Sir Richard Branson’s sister have paid tribute to a “gentle and kind” young man.
Tragic Oliver Wissenbach, 25, was spotted lifeless under the water by a maintenance worker at artist Lindy Branson’s pad in Menorca on the first day of a long-awaited holiday.
Oliver, from Coventry, and his family were renting Lindy’s Villa Gloria and had been to see a fireworks display the night before.
His body was found on Tuesday at 7.45am and it is thought he had suffered from sudden adult death syndrome while taking a late-night dip.
In a statement, the family said: “We discovered the body of our beloved Oli, lying peacefully at the bottom of a swimming pool in Menorca.
“He had died unexpectedly, doing something he loved, taking a late-night swim.
“Oli had a zest for life.
“He was a qualified snowboarding instructor, diving instructor, electronic music producer and English teacher.
“He was gentle, kind and humble.”
The two families did not know each other but Ms Branson told The Sun: “As you can imagine we were tremendously saddened by this tragic news.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family.”
Sir Richard and Lindy are close and last year he posted a picture of them enjoying a drink on her birthday in Menorca.
The Foreign Office said it was supporting the family of a British man who had died in Menorca.
