Outlander fans are in for a treat with a special Comic Con based around the new series six launch and featuring stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe.

After a two-years break, some of the cast and those behind the scenes are heading to New York in person and virtually to take part in Comic Con there on October 9, 2021.

Show writer Diana Gabaldon, exec producer Maril Davis and Scots actor Sam Heughan are heading to the Big Apple for the special event, while fellow stars Caitriona Balfe, Sophie Skelton, Lauren Lyle, César Domboy, and John Bell will join virtually.

And fans can also join them virtually or in person – if they’re lucky enough to be New York Bound.

It is thought the occasion will be the perfect opportunity for Diana to promote the series’ brand new book, Go Tell The Bees That I am Gone due out in November,

Sam is also one of the guests at Wizard World Chicago a week later so it is thought he’ll be sticking around in thee Stages for the week.

Season six of Outlander is slated for the new year and eight episodes with a ninety minute premiere will be shown then.”

Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts said of the new show: “We are excited to get into the editing room to work on bringing the fans one step closer to reuniting with the family back on Fraser’s Ridge.

“Filming in 2021 has presented an unprecedented set of challenges.

“It led us to truncate the season in order to bring the fans the most vibrant and dynamic season as soon as possible. Dinna fash, we will then film an extended season 7 with 16 episodes next year as life returns to normalcy.”
