The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ovie Omo-Agege, has pledged his support and that of Delta State for President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement on Wednesday by his aide, Billy Egbe, the lawmaker said Delta State, especially the central district, benefitted from the Federal Government during Buhari’s first term.
He listed the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri rail line and ongoing dualisation of the Amukpe-Eku-Agbor road as some of the projects the state benefitted from.
The statement read in part, “Senator Omo-Agege notes with a great sense of gratitude that Mr President’s first tenure has been markedly beneficial to our people.
In terms of infrastructural development, attention to progressive and peoples-uplifting policies, and upholding integrity as a necessary element of good governance. No government in the recent past has shown fidelity to its promises to the Urhobo and the South-South in general like the government of President Buhari.
“Among many others, the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, payment of pensions to former staff of Delta Steel Company, the ongoing dualisation of the Amukpe-Eku-Agbor-Ewu expressway, funding of the Federal Maritime University, Okerenkoko, construction and inauguration of the Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri standard gauge railway line, among others.”
