Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to have Marcus Rashford and Amad Diallo available after October’s international break.

Rashford has been sidelined for almost three months after undergoing shoulder surgery following England’s Euro 2020 campaign.

The 23-year-old is now close to returning to full training along with 19-year-old Diallo.

The Ivory Coast international was thought to be close to leaving Old Trafford on loan towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Feyenoord were close to signing him on a season-long loan deal only for an injury suffered in training to scupper that move.

‘They’re still a few weeks away so, hopefully after the international break, they could be available,’ Solskjaer said.

‘They’re working hard, both of them positive, and it’s been a long, long time for Marcus of course. Probably the longest he’s been out but he’s needed it.

‘He looks raring to go, happy and he knows he’s missed out on pre-season, but he’s done loads of good conditioning work and should be ready soon.’

United begin a huge run of fixtures following the international break which gets underway with a trip to Leicester City on 16 October.

They then welcome Atalanta to Old Trafford in the Champions League on 20 October before a huge showdown with Liverpool four days later.

Solskjaer’s side close out the month away to Tottenham.
