Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful that he will be able to welcome five Manchester United first-teamers back for the Europa League second leg clash with AC Milan.

Solskjaer’s side drew 1-1 with the Serie A giants in Thursday’s first leg of the last-16 tie and need a positive result in Italy to reach the quarter-finals.

In between the two European matches with Milan, United edged West Ham in a 1-0 win in the Premier League.

Solskjaer was missing several stars, with Anthony Martial, Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek all out injured.

David de Gea also missed the match after being forced into quarantine upon his return from Madrid, where he travelled for the birth of his son.

Solskjaer had earlier confirmed De Gea would be able to start training on Monday and provided further good news for his side about the rest of the absent contingent.

‘Injury-wise, I hope we have four or five players back for that game,’ Solskjaer said after the 1-0 win against West Ham United on Sunday night.

‘It’s very likely Edinson and Anthony are fit. Donny hopefully as well.

‘Paul even might make the trip. And David is back from isolation.

‘That’s more numbers. Today you can see we even had two goalkeepers on the bench so we need them back of course.’
