Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Man Utd change of stance on Facundo Pellistri

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has appeared to confirm that Manchester United have gone back on their word to Penarol regarding Facundo Pellistri’s role at the club. Pellistri signed a five-year deal on deadline day and has so far only featured for the reserves.

He was named on the bench for the 2-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain last month, but Solskjaer is yet to play the 18-year-old.

Pellistri has been tipped for a bright future and has already impressed for the reserves with his quick feet and eye for a pass.

Penarol had requested to bring Pellistri back to the club on a season-long loan, but United had indicated that he would be brought straight into the first team at Old Trafford.

“Pellistri is going straight to the first team. He’s going to play,” Penarol secretary Evaristo Gonzalez said when the deal was confirmed.
