Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits he occasionally gets frustrated with Bruno Fernandes losing possession following Manchester United’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Boxing Day.

The Portugal international gave the ball away in the build-up to Harvey Barnes’ equaliser but scored with 11 minutes remaining to put United 2-1 ahead.

However, Axel Tuanzebe’s late own goal secured a point for Leicester, which has denied the chance to move up to second place in the Premier League.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer joked that he ‘can tear my hair out’ over Fernandes when he loses the ball but has stressed that he will not interfere with the midfielder’s willingness to take risks.

‘He’s that type of player that will always create chances for you,’ Solskjaer told talkSPORT.

‘He’s always looking to create chances and take risks and I don’t mind that in him.

‘Sometimes I can tear my hair out because I see an easier pass, a simpler pass and he gives it away.

‘As you said, he’s produced so much for us. I’ll let him be Bruno and let him be himself and play the way he wants him to play the game.

‘I think we’ve helped him create the numbers.’

Solskjaer also praised Jamie Vardy for his movement in the build-up to Leicester City’s late equaliser.

‘Of course it’s disappointing when you’ve only got five minutes to go and you concede,’ said the United manager.

‘But then again you can’t stop quality players with quality moments and that was great movement and a great finish by Vardy. He deserved that goal.’
