Oil and gas project management firm buys training company in Aberdeenshire acquisition

A project management company that specialises in the oil and gas sector has acquired an integrated laboratory solutions provider for an undisclosed sum.

Aberdeen-based Oleochem Project Management supplies consultancy, production chemists and laboratory equipment, with Nulab Laboratory Solutions bringing training and specialised laboratory knowledge to its portfolio.

The Nulab team will remain in place, but the new venture will be branded as Oleochem Nulab Training.

Ally Macsporran, training director at Oleochem, said: “Acquiring NuLab is a milestone for Oleochem, which allows us to expand our service capabilities and deliver a broader offering to our client base.

“One element of our future growth strategy is competency training for chemists to give our chemists a competitive advantage – NuLab’s expertise will be invaluable in this.”

NuLab, based in Newmachar, was formed in 2005 by John and Cathy Alborough. They will both remain in a consultancy role with the new company.

John Alborough added: “The transfer of knowledge and experience is critical to the safety, survival and success of any business or development of an individual’s knowledge.”
