Ogun PDP mourns as party’s former National Auditor dies

Former National Auditor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Fatai Wole Adeyanju, has died.

Adeyanju was said to have died in the early hours of Saturday.

The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Ogun State, Akinloye Bankole, confirmed the death of Adeyanju, in a release.

In the statement made available to DAILY POST, Akinloye said:

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state mourns the painful transition to higher glory of one of its founding leaders and a former member of the National Working Committee of the party, Alhaji Abdulfatah Adewole Adeyanju who died after a protracted illness.

“The party describes the painful exit of Alhaji Adeyanju as a huge loss to the entire PDP family, the entire political class in Ogun State, Nigeria and humanity at large.

“During his life time, Alhaji Adeyanju was an outstanding party man, a cerebral democrat who dedicated his life to the stability and common good of our great party and the nation.

“Adeyanju also played leading roles in the entrenchment of core democratic values and ethos in the administration of our great party, especially during his tenures of office as the Secretary to Ipokia Local Government and later as the National Auditor of the party.

“Beyond that, our party, as ably led by Alhaji Sikirulahi Ogundele, is particularly pained that Adeyanju left the political stage at this material time when his vast pool of experience, wise counsel and leadership direction are needed as the party moves towards total harmonisation of all members.

“As a party, we are, however, consoled in the fact that he triumphed in life and left very strong legacies, dedication, resilience and unalloyed loyalty from which younger generation of political actors can benefit.

“Our party extends sincere condolences to his immediate family members in Agada in Ipokia Local Government, the entire PDP Family in Ipokia Local Government and the entire political class in Ogun state and Nigeria. We pray that Almighty God grant us all the required fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss,” Ogun PDP said.

Our correspondent reports that no detail has been provided about the cause of death of the late former PDP National Auditor, who reportedly died in his 60s.
