No new COVID-19 related death recorded in Nigeria

Nigeria recorded its lowest daily COVID-19 infections in five months on Sunday with no fatalities recorded across the country.

A total of 120 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours – lesser than this year’s lowest daily tally of 195 new cases recorded about a fortnight ago, and the lowest since October 22, 2020, when there were just 37 new infections.

Lagos recorded the highest number of new cases leading 18 states with 32 infections followed by Rivers and Kaduna with 25 and 20 cases respectively.

According to update published by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), no fatality was recorded on Sunday for the first time this year.

The total death tally in the country remains 2,013.

However, the total number of infections in the country currently stands at 160,657.
