NETFLIX fans have been left too terrified to go in their own gardens after watching the trailer for new Stephen King horror In The Tall Grass.
The movie, which airs on the streaming service next month, sees two siblings lured into an overgrown field by a child’s blood-curdling screams.
However, when Becky (Laysla De Oliveira) and Cal (Patrick Wilson) get in there, they find themselves trapped in a disorientating world tangled inside the long grass – and they are far from alone.
Getting separated, they struggle to find one another and quickly come across other people stuck inside hunting for their loved-ones.
And if that wasn’t eerie enough, a creepy child even pops up to point out: “You can find things. But it’s easier once they’re dead.”
When the promo was released, many were astonished by just how spooky high grass could be with one viewer wailing: “I’m scared to cut my lawn after this trailer.”
Another advised: “If you don’t do well with scary movies you may not want to watch this alone and after dark.”
A third complained: “Great now I can’t walk in the fields at night without feeling completely terrified.”
However, plenty of people were thrilled that the film – an adaptation of a book Stephen King wrote with his son Joel Hill – was coming to screens.
One posted: “Finally. I’ve been waiting for so long. Another Stephen King awesomeness.”
Another wrote simply: “Trust Stephen King to make grass terrifying.”
The author himself endorsed the movie’s fear factor too, writing: “Netflix. Next month. It’s scary.”
In The Tall Grass, which is directed by Vincenzo Natali, will be released around the world on October 4.
