MYLEENE Klass is the latest celebrity to sign up for the upcoming Dancing On Ice series — just weeks after getting engaged.
The musician and radio host, 42, joins fellow contestants including TV host Denise Van Outen, Corrie actress Faye Brookes and reality star Billie Faiers.
A source insisted the skating show had landed a real coup with Myleene, who has been in showbiz for nearly two decades.
They said: “Dancing On Ice bosses are delighted to work with Myleene. She’s got the perfect blend of beauty and brains which fans are sure to love when the show returns. Myleene feels the time is right to take on a new challenge and she can’t wait to push herself on the ice.
“Her family are massive fans of the shows and her kids can’t wait to see her in action.”
Another source told The Sun it was “a big shock” that Myleene is doing Dancing On Ice as many thought she would be holding out for BBC rival Strictly.
But they added: “ITV pay a lot more than the BBC though and she is expected to have signed a huge deal worth over £50,000.
“People are surprised she’s doing it but the show is intense and she will be working hard for every penny.”
Myleene shot to fame on Pop Idol in 2001 — forming part of the five-piece Hear’Say.
Her Dancing on Ice move comes just weeks after her PR boyfriend Simon Motson’s surprise proposal.
The 46-year-old recreated their first date before popping the question — which left star Myleene in shock.
She told Hello!: “When he got down on one knee and started fumbling around under the table, I thought he was joking.
“Then I thought, ‘Oh my God, he’s for real’.”
The couple have a year-old son, Apollo, and each have two kids from previous relationships.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will host, while ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are also expected to return.
