Music legend Clarence Avant’s wife Jacqueline has been shot and killed in their home during an invasion, it has been claimed.

The 81-year-old is thought to have been killed during a robbery at their Beverly Hills home on Tuesday.

According to TMZ, police were called to the property at around 2.30am, with the dispatch team informed that there had been shots fired.

By the time they arrived on the scene, Jacqueline had reportedly been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and the invaders had fled.

A family source told the publication that the intruders fired shots as they entered the home, and hit her.

They explained that Clarence, 90, was also home at the time of the attack, but it is unclear whether he was injured.

The couple have been married for 54 years, tying the knot in a ceremony in 1967.

They are parents to son Alexander and daughter Nicole – wife of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos.

Jacqueline was by her husband’s side just months ago when Clarence was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, to honor his incredible service to the music industry.

The iconic music executive was also the focus of 2019 Netflix documentary The Black Godfather, which his late wife made an appearance in.

She also served on the board of directors of the International Student Center at UCLA, and was president of the Neighbors of Watts – a support group for the South Central Community Child Care Center in 1975.

Jacqueline is survived by husband Clarence and their two children, Alexander and Nicole.
