Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick and produced an assist for Liverpool to help them beat Manchester United 5-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday evening
Mohamed Salah has given his verdict on Liverpool’s dominant 5-0 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.
The Egyptian forward, 29, scored a hat-trick, the first by an opponent at Old Trafford in the Premier League, to help Jurgen Klopp’s side complete a famous triumph and give Reds fans a day to remember.
Salah told the Sky Sports: “I think it’s great to win 5-0 here away.
“We knew before the game it was going to be tough if we didn’t play our football, we managed to do that from the beginning so it made the game easier.
“We knew they would come and try to give everything to win the game, so we had to give 100 per cent and dominate the game, I think we did it.

“As a team from the beginning we just tried to play our football, just tried to get the ball between the lines, I think we did that, to keep the ball as long as we could and create chances.”
Salah has scored 10 goals and produced five assists in nine Premier League games this term, with many critics claiming he’s now the best player on the planet.
The former Chelsea and Roma star was involved in four of Liverpool’s five goals against United, assisting Naby Keita’s opener.
Speaking about his individual form, Salah added: “To be fair as long as the team keeps winning I’m more than happy.
“I always try to give assists, the first one I could go alone but I gave it to Naby, I am always trying to be my best for the team to win, that’s the most important thing.”
Liverpool’s victory against United leaves them second in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Chelsea.
The Reds have made an unbeaten start to the season, winning six of their nine league games and all three of their Champions League fixtures.
Discussing the team’s Premier League title chances, Salah said: “We won the Premier League two years ago, we know what it takes.
“You win away against Man Utd it’s something really big but still at the end of the day it’s three points. We need to focus on our games to come and the next Premier League game.”

Liverpool’s victory against United on Sunday is their biggest since their 5-0 triumph at Anfield in September 1925 – and their biggest ever at Old Trafford.
When asked if he was shocked by the result, Salah replied: “I think after half time we just had to keep going, keep scoring goals, score as many as we could.
“Chances like that won’t come often. We knew before the game it would be tough if we didn’t dominate the game.”
