Floyd Mayweather boasts of earning $100m for “fake fight”

Mike Tyson will reportedly meet Logan Paul in the ring next February in his second exhibition bout since returning to boxing.

Tyson took out fellow legend Roy Jones Jr last November and has been linked with clashes with old rivals Evander Holyfield and Lennox Lewis.

But it looks like YouTube star Paul, who took on Floyd Mayweather in a similar fight this summer, will be the man in the opposite corner.

The fight was reported by Daniel Keem, better known by his social media alias Keemstar, who hosts popular news show DramaAlert.

“Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson, Feb 2022, sources tell DramaAlert,” he tweeted.

The report follows Tyson’s confirmation that he will return to the ring early next year.

“I am going to have a return fight in February and we are pretty skeptical about the opponent, but it will be a really stimulating opponent,” he told The Sun.

Paul’s boxing experience pales into insignificance next to Tyson’s, although the YouTube star is almost 30 years younger than the 55-year-old former heavyweight world champion.

The YouTuber drew his boxing debut – a white-collar bout with fellow social media star KSI – before losing their rematch which was held under professional rules in Los Angeles.

Unlike this brother Jake who has pursued a professional career and has a record of 4-0, Logan switched his focus to exhibition bouts.

He took Mayweather the full eight rounds in Miami in June but no winner was announced as per the the rules of the bout.

Paul, 26, said in August that he knew who his next opponent was but couldn’t reveal the name, although he suggested it would be a professional bout.

“I have to; this is the coolest thing on the planet,” he said. “You think about the Roman Colosseum, when you watch the gladiators fight to the death.

“Look around. My brother filled this arena up in Cleveland, Ohio, his home city. It’s the coolest thing anyone could ever ask for.

“I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: Fighters [are] modern day gladiators. There is no more dangerous athlete.

“When the fighter walks in the room, everyone feels it. He’s got a presence. And it’s cool, I love it. I love the sport, I love entertaining.”

He made his fortune on social media, first through the now-defunct Vine and then on YouTube where he has more than 23 million subscribers.
