Michael Owen is expecting both Arsenal and Manchester United to book their spots in the last-16 of the Europa League and fancies Celtic and Wolves to join them and already-qualified Rangers in the next round.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secured a 1-0 away win against Olympiakos a week ago and welcome the Greek side back to the Emirates on Thursday.

They are they heavy favourites to progress and Owen is not expecting any issues for Mikel Arteta’s men.

‘Arsenal rode their luck on occasions against Everton at the Etihad on Sunday, but this new-look Gunners outfit are beginning to make winning a habit and I feel they will build on the 1-0 lead they take into the tie against Olympiakos from last week’s game in Piraeus,’ Owen told Betvictor.

‘The Greeks did win their last game at the Emirates back in 2015 but they lost 4-2 at Spurs in the Champions League earlier in the season, and I expect their return visit to north London to end in another defeat.’

Manchester United fought back from 1-0 down to draw with Club Brugge and have since gone on to thump Watford 3-0 at home.

And Owen expects another win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Thursday.

‘Manchester United continued their excellent run of form with a comprehensive 3-0 defeat of Watford on Sunday although that scoreline did not flatter the Hornets who might have got something from the game on another day,’ added Owen.

‘Anthony Martial has scored in his last three appearances for United and his equaliser in Bruges could be the vital goal in the tie. This might not be the walk in the park that many would have us believe, but I expect Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to make it safely through to the last 16.’

Wolves hold a 4-0 lead over Espanyol as they head out to Barcelona for their second leg, with Celtic welcome FC Copenhagen to Celtic Park having drawn 1-1 away.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers already advanced, beating Braga 4-2 on aggregate, and Owen thinks Wolves and Celtic will make it a clean sweep.
