Meghan Trainor came face-to-face with her idol Dr Phil McGraw after he made a surprise appearance on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden.
The legendary TV psychologist, 69, joined the singer, 26, as she drove to work with the Late Late Show presenter, leaving Meghan excitedly squealing: ‘I’m gonna throw up!’
During his Carpool cameo Dr Phil praised Meghan for speaking so openly about her struggles with a panic disorder, and after offering his own words of wisdom to viewers, the trio joined in a rendition of All About That Bass.

As James and Meghan enjoyed their drive, the presenter enquired about her lifelong love of Dr Phil and his show.
She gushed: ‘I worship Dr Phil! I went to his show the other day and I couldn’t stop crying, for my birthday my brother got me tickets to see Dr Phil live and I went and it was the greatest day of my whole life.’
‘It’s heavy I watched it this morning every single day I’ve seen every episode multiple times.’

Thrilled: Meghan told James that she was a die-hard fan of Dr Phil and his TV show, and called her trip to see the show live ‘the best day of her life’
Over the moon: As Dr Phil climbed into the car, asking ‘can I get a ride?’ Meghan squealed: ‘I’m gonna throw up, I’m so excited your teeth look so good!’

As James tried to change the subject to chat about her upcoming tour with Maroon 5, Meghan let out a squeal of excitement after spotting a familiar far entering the car.
Asking: ‘Can I get a ride?’ Dr Phil climbed into the car, while Meghan pretended to faint and continues to scream.
She gushed: ‘I’m gonna throw up, I’m so excited your teeth look so good!’
Open: Meghan admitted she was in the ‘red zone of anxiety’ several years earlier, and Phil praised her for giving others a voice to talk about their own struggles
During the drive, Dr Phil praised Meghan for speaking so openly about her struggles with mental health.
The singer explained: ‘I have so many questions, I wrote an album called Treat Myself, because I went through panic disorder.
‘I was in the red zone of anxiety, two years later I’m slaying I was uneducated about what anxiety can do to your body.’

Phil then adds: ‘But isn’t it great that you wanna talk about that, because a lot of people are like ”oh have a stigma don’t wanna talk about that.”
‘And when you talk about it you have no idea how many millions of people will say if she can talk about it I can talk about it, when you talk about it, it gives it a face it gives it a voice.’
After joining James and Meghan in a rendition of All About That Bass, Dr Phil offered some words of wisdom to viewers.
They joined hands, which sparked even more excitement from Meghan as she mouthed ‘oh my god!’

Phil then said: ‘You know, if you figure out why people do what they do and don’t do what they don’t do then you’ve got a huge leg up on life.
‘Pay attention we don’t listen to each other anymore. Listen to Meghan and don’t forget she’s got a new album out.’
During the segment, Meghan also joined host James in performing duets of some of her biggest hits, including Funk and Nice to Meet Ya.
The Grammy winner also chatted about life as a married woman, after she tied the knot with Spy Kids star Daryl Sabara in December 2018.
She also recalled that it was her actress pal Chloe Grace Moretz who set her up with him, and they went on a double date for their first meeting with her then-boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham.

‘We were hanging out and I said ”dude I’m just trying to find a nice guy,” and she said ‘one of my best friends is the nicest guy I know,’ and I was like ”OK hook it up,” we went on a double date, we went bowling.
‘Me, Darryl, Brooklyn Beckham, who I had no idea who he was. Brooklyn came to me and was like ”you should kiss him.”
‘They were like 19 and I was 22 and was ”like you are children,” I said ”guys let me kiss him in my own time.” And then I looked to my security guard and said ”be gone!” and that’s what gave Darryl the cue of like ”oh it’s going down!”
Playful: Meghan said that her pals Chloe and Brooklyn tried to get her to kiss Darryl on her first date with him, and admitted she dismissed her security guard as a hint
She continued: ‘After that we went to karaoke and he sang Your Song by Elton John to me. He’s something else I’ve never met anyone like him and I thought I’m gonna marry you!
‘[Chloe and Brooklyn] were singing I swear to God The Spice Girls.’
Chloe was in a relationship with Brooklyn from 2016 to mid-2018, and he’s currently dating model Nicola Peltz.
