A MECHANIC has recreated the Back To The Future DeLorean — using a Reliant Robin similar to Del Boy’s motor in Only Fools and Horses.
Ty DeLorean — who says he is the son of car maker John DeLorean — has even fitted a flux capacitor feature.
He plans to sell more of the 850cc gull-winged vehicles for £20,000 in Newquay, Cornwall.
The inventor says “there’s been interest from all over the world.”
But despite approval from movie fans, Ty has been hit with a legal warning over “trademark infringement and passing off”.
A letter Law firm Shakespeare Martineau states: “Whilst our client notes your claim to be the son of John DeLorean, being the son of John DeLorean does not give you the right to use our client’s UK registered trade marks without its permission, or to pass your business off as being in some way connected to or endorsed by our client’s business.”
