Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings to continue hosting Jeopardy! through July of next year after taking over following death of Alex Trebek










Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will continue their Jeopardy! hosting duties through at least the middle of next year. 

The Big Bang Theory actress, 45, and the Jeopardy! champion, 47, are set to host the remainder of season 38 which continues until the end of July, according to Deadline

The pair took over for Michael Richards after he abruptly stepped down from his position as host in August after one day of taping.

Richards gave up his role as a host a few days after a report from The Ringer which detailed sexist and racist comments Richards made in the past. 

Later that month, he resigned as executive producer on the show.

Producers for the show needed to find a new producer originally after Alex Trebek died of pancreatic cancer in November.

Trebek hosted the show through its first 37 seasons from 1984 up until last year. 

A number of other hosts tried out to replace the iconic show host including Reading Rainbow host Levar Burton, news anchor Anderson Cooper and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers among many others. 

While Jennings and Bialik will be busy filming this season of Jeopardy!, it hasn’t slowed down the numerous other projects Bialik is taking part in.

She also recently received a role in The Inspector Chronicles, an upcoming film about an immortal time traveler who traverses through space and time. 

The movie shares many similarities to the popular BBC show Doctor Who. Both series event featured a similar actor in Sylvester McCoy.
