Arsenal are closing in on the £7million signing of Matteo Guendouzi, according to reports in France.

The Gunners have agreed a fee with Ligue 2 club Lorient for Guendouzi, who will be Unai Emery’s fourth signing of the summer.

Guendouzi is still only 19, but came through Paris Saint-Germain’s youth ranks before switching to Lorient in 2014.

RMC Sport claim the deal is almost done and Guendouzi will fly into London on Monday to undergo a medical.

An announcement could be made on Monday, but the deal should go through at some stage this week.

Guendouzi has already come to terms with Arsenal and is set to sign a five-year deal.

Lorient and Guendouzi were relegated from the top tier of French football in the 2016/17 season and then missed out on promotion last campaign.

Guendouzi made 21 appearances in total last season playing as a defensive midfielder and central midfielder.

Arsenal may be in for a busy period of transfer activity with the club also edging closer to the signing of Lucas Torreira.

The Uruguay midfielder can now focus on his club future after postponing talks with Arsenal until after the World Cup.

Torreira has not traveled back to Uruguay with the rest of his international team-mates, as he expects to be summoned to London to undergo a medical and agree terms.
