Mason Mount says Hakim Ziyech ‘is a joy to play with’ following Chelsea’s victory over Burnley on Saturday.

Frank Lampard’s side ran out 3-0 winners at Turf Moor following goals from Ziyech, Kurt Zouma and Timo Werner.

Ziyech, who missed the start of the season with a knee injury, has shown flashes of his quality since making his Chelsea debut last month.

And Mount admits he’s a huge fan of Chelsea’s £33.3 million signing from Ajax.

‘We know what he can do on the ball and what he brings to the team,’ Mount told Chelsea TV when asked about Ziyech’s performance against Burnley.

‘World class player, obviously coming in and scoring the other night [against Krasnodar] and scoring on his Premier League debut. He’s a brilliant player.

‘He’s a joy to play with, very clever on the ball, he brings a lot to the team. He’s a very good player.’

Lampard also praised Ziyech’s display following his side’s win over Burnley.

‘I expected a lot of him, because I was very aware of his quality, that’s why we brought him to the club,’ said Lampard.

‘I think I’ve said it a bit now, but he brings a different quality to us with his eye for a pass, receiving, his crossing and everything, his assist-making.

‘But what I’ve seen since he’s been here as well is his absolute personality when he plays to want the ball. His work rate off the ball is very, very good as well.

‘And he’s brought those qualities and he’s come in with a real confidence. He’s definitely given us a big boost with his demeanour and the way he plays.

‘Two games in a few days, with a trip to Russia in between, for him, after being out for so long, it’s been a really good start for him.’
