Married At First Sight expert John Aiken breaks his silence on rumours of a ‘Celebrity MAFS’… after Richard Wilkins was approached by producers

Married At First Sight relationship expert John Aiken has shut down rumours the next season of the hit Channel Nine show will feature celebrities.

‘I think we just keep doing what we’re doing,’ he said.

‘I don’t think we need to go down the path of Celebrity MAFS. I think we just keep 2023 with essentially the same ingredients: singles looking for love trying their best to fall in love,’ he added.

John also revealed in his interview that he doesn’t keep in touch with MAFS participants once filming is over, but does enjoy watching them ‘shine post-show’.

It comes after Channel Nine veteran Richard Wilkins claimed he’d been offered ‘a lot of zeros’ to star on a celebrity version of the series.

‘[Former Nine CEO] David Gyngell once said to me, I’ll give you – I won’t mention the amount of money but a lot of zeros – if you do Celebrity Married at First Sight,’ the 68-year-old said on Fitzy & Wippa last month.

The likes of Richard Reid, Yvie Jones, Ash Williams, Tully Smyth, Harry T and Paulini Curuenavuli have all previously been linked to a celebrity version of MAFS.

While Richard didn’t rule out MAFS, he told radio hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli he had no desire to appear on SAS, Survivor or Love Island.

According to reports, they were introduced by their mutual friend Ben Fordham earlier that year.
