Mariah Carey reveals she needed six men to carry dress she wore for Christmas special

Mariah Carey has told Lorraine Kelly that she needed six men to carry her dress for her upcoming Christmas special – and joked that sometimes she only requires five helpers.

Viewers couldn’t believe it when the singing diva joined the Scots telly Queen to talk about her new festive projects and Christmas song from her living room in the US.

Lorraine was also amazed after Maria told her about her wardrobe needs as she chatted about music and her Christmas special.

Maria wore the incredible beaded Dolce and Gabbana dress for upcoming Christmas special, The Magic Continues.

The gold beaded number comes with a large train which forms a circle while Maria sings.

Maria told Lorraine : ‘You want to laugh? The dress took six grown men to carry the train of that dress to get me down the stairs. It weighed 60-70 pounds!’

Lorraine looked dumbfounded as she asked Maria: “You always have six men helping you?”

She laughed: “Sometimes it’s five, sometimes it’s six – it depends on the beading.”

She also has new song Fall In Love At Christmas with Khalid and Kirk Franklin.

She said: “I’m not trying to be like “Oh I’m competing with All I Want,” it’s not a competition, it’s just a different style of song.

“It’s a love song and it’s a spiritual moment and I think for where we are in the world, it’s really, really right, timing-wise.”
