Marcus Rashford has called on his Manchester United team-mates to ‘come together’ and ‘bounce back’ after a disappointing defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Rashford was part of the United side who struggled to lay a glove on Mike Arteta’s men as they lost to Arsenal at Old Trafford for the first time since 2006.

The result left United languishing in 15th in the Premier League, just four points above the relegation zone, having lost three of their first six games.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are already nine points behind defending champions Liverpool, with many questioning whether they will be able to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

But Rashford is confident that his team-mates will turn things around and called on them to ‘get back to the basics’ to start winning games.

It’s been tough,‘ Rashford told the club’s official website. ‘Obviously, we’ve had a lot of big games and games we need to get points in. It’s been a bit up and down but it’s like that sometimes.

‘Like you say, it’s been an alright month but, for now, it’s all about sticking together and finding a way to win games and really picking up the belief.

‘We always bounce back when we don’t do so well and I think it’s another one of those times.

‘We have to come together as a team, get back to the basics, and win games.’

United will now travel to Turkey for their latest Champions League game against Istanbul Basaksehir.

While they have struggled for consistency in the Premier League, the Red Devils boast an 100% record in Europe after beating Paris Saint-Germain and Red Bull Leipzig.

An away win would put them in complete control of Group H, with PSG and Leipzig facing off on Wednesday, and Rashford insists his team-mates need to push the defeat to Arsenal out of their minds.

As a club, that’s our next focus now,‘ he added.

We’ve analysed the Arsenal game and we can’t dwell on that for too long, otherwise it will affect our next performance.

It’s important we go there with a fresh mind, a clean slate, play well and win the game.
