At least Marcos Rojo sees the funny side after his failed rabona attempt during Manchester United’s win over Astana in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Mason Greenwood’s second-half strike secured the victory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Old Trafford.

But with the score at 0-0, Rojo made an outrageous attempt to break the deadlock with a rabona towards Astana’s goal.

But unfortunately for the Argentine, his effort hit an Astana player and was met with ironic cheers from the Old Trafford crowd.

Rojo has clearly seen the stick from United fans for his effort as he followed up with a post on Instagram which clearly shows he’s capable of pulling off a decent rabona.

The clip, which was captioned ‘this was the idea’, showed Rojo scoring with the skill during a small-sided game in United training.

Rojo was substituted with 11 minutes remaining and could now be pushing for his first Premier League start of the season as United travel to West Ham on Sunday.

Luke Shaw has already been ruled out of the match due to a hamstring injury and trained away from the main group this week.
