Chelsea outcast Marcos Alonso took a sly dig at Frank Lampard’s side on Instagram following the Blues’ 3-1 defeat to rivals Arsenal.

The Spaniard has been ostracised this season following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City in a £52million deal.

Alonso was instrumental in Chelsea’s last title win but he’s found himself behind Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri this term, with Lampard making it clear that he has no future at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea were woeful in their loss to rivals Arsenal at the Emirates and the defeat means Lampard’s side have lost three of their last four matches in the Premier League.

Alonso wasn’t named in Lampard’s 18-man squad that travelled to north London and the Spaniard hasn’t helped his situation at the club by ‘liking’ Chelsea’s Instagram post about the defeat against Arsenal.

While Alonso may have innocently ‘liked’ the post, endorsing such a negative message is unlikely to go down well with Lampard.

Lampard vowed to make a series of changes to his starting XI for the visit of Aston Villa after accusing his players of failing to take responsibility against Arsenal.

The former Derby coach was furious of accusations about his team selection or system, instead insisting that it’s down to the players to step up.

Callum Hudson-Odoi and Jorginho were introduced at half-time against the Gunners and can expect to start against Dean Smith’s side, while Olivier Giroud is likely to come into the team.
