UFC fighter Mandy Bohm is planning to announce herself on the world stage with a big performance in her UFC debut tomorrow.

The German fighter has been forced out of the cage for almost a year due to fight cancellations, but gets to make her debut in MMA’s top promotion against veteran Ariane Lipski in Las Vegas.

A former Bellator star, Bohm was even at one point scheduled to fight Liz Carmouche, but is now set to take on Lipski, who has been in the promotion for almost six fights over three years.

She was even KSW at one stage, so Bohm understands the challenge facing her, telling Mirror Fighting that the whole experience is a dream come true.

“I have arrived at the final goal of my career,” she said. “Everyone dreams of fighting in the UFC, I’m so excited about this.

“I’m always confident of how I will perform when I step into the cage, now the octagon – this was a super long camp but I know my body well.

“I’ve been listening to my body, there are experiences that you just get over time, I never stopped training, I’m in very good shape, I just want to show up and perform.”

Bohm, who has amassed a 7-0 record on her way to the summit of the sport, has said that at 33-years-old, she felt it was “now or never” if she wanted to make it to the UFC.

Her last outing was at Bellator 247 in Milan, but after they were unable to put her in a position to be fighting more regularly, she asked for her release so she could pursue the dream of making it to the UFC.

“Covid times are crazy,” she explained. “For me it’s now or never, Bellator couldn’t give me fights so I asked them to release me so that I could try do some fights and get to the UFC.

“It was a hard decision to step out of my safe zone, but it was the best decision of my life and now here we are; the UFC!”

Odds are close to even for the main card fight, which takes place on the same event as Anthony Smith vs Ryan Spann, and Bohm has said that she is ready for the division’s big names.

“I’m ready for everyone in this division,” Bohm added. “I was supposed to fight Talia Santos, she pulled out of the fight, now she’s ranked at number 12 in the division.

“I’m here to climb the rankings, climb to the top, and that’s what I’d like to do – I’m here to make a statement and show the world who I am.”

You can watch Mandy Bohm vs Ariane Lipsky on BT Sport 1, with the fights beginning at midnight on Sunday morning.
