Manchester United are prepared to wait until the end of the season before attempting to sign Norwich City full-back Max Aarons.

The right-back has been identified by United as an alternative to the more defensively-minded Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with Solskjaer keen to have two players for every position in his squad.

Aarons impressed for the Canaries as they were relegated from the Premier League last term and he’s continued his good form in the Championship, where Norwich are top and four points clear of the play-off places.

United have received a number of offers for Brandon Williams, with Southampton reportedly interested in signing the full-back on loan in January.

However, ESPN claim Norwich’s valuation of Aarons is proving a stumbling block and that United feel a deal would be more likely to happen at the end of the season.

Norwich would prefer to keep Aarons until at least the end of the season as he will help the club’s promotion push but they’re open to listening to offers both in January and in the summer.

Aarons, 20, was identified last summer but United had a choatic window in which they signed five players on deadline day.

However, despite taking huge amounts of criticism for their kamikaze approach, the club are in second place in the Premier League behind rivals Liverpool going into 2021.

United can go joint-top with a win against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on New Year’s Day and the club’s game in hand against Burnley at Turf Moor has been arranged for January 12th, five days before their trip to face leaders Liverpool at Anfield.
