Manchester United are reportedly in advanced talks with Lyon teenager Florent Da Silva, who has attracted attention from a number of top European clubs.

The teenage midfielder, who has appeared for France under-16s, is yet to sign a professional contract with Lyon and United are ready to make an offer for him, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication report that ‘negotiations are in an advanced stage’ although the two clubs are yet to reach an agreement.

Da Silva is also yet to make a final decision on where his future lies, with L’Equipe stating that, ‘he thinks about the best project.’

Lyon are keen to keep hold of one of their brightest talents, who turned out in the UEFA Youth League and for Lyon reserves in the Championnat National 2 last season.

He is yet to play for, or even train with, the first team at Lyon, but president Jean-Michel Aulas is working hard to keep hold of him.

Aulas already secured the first professional contract for 15-year-old striker Rayan Cherki this summer, also regarded as a hot prospect, and he wants to do the same with Da Silva.

United’s only two signings so far this summer have been Daniel James, 21, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, 21, showing that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a keen eye on young players over the transfer window.

However, their pursuit of 26-year-old Harry Maguire continues to drag on, with the Red Devils still yet to meet Leicester’s valuation of the England international.

United have made an offer of £70m for the centre-back, but the Foxes are holding out for at least £80m.
