Manchester United wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba may have missed out on a transfer to Real Madrid this summer, but the speculation surrounding his future looks set to rumble on.

The Frenchman admitted he was ready for a new challenge over the summer amid significant interest from Real manager Zinedine Zidane, though United were adamant he would not be allowed to leave.

He has since been reintegrated into the United team and started all four of the club’s Premier League matches this season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he is fully committed to the Red Devils.

However, not long before the transfer window in Spain finally slammed shut on Monday evening, Pogba’s social media activity suggested he was not entirely happy that a move to Real never materialised.

A fan responded to one of his posts on Instagram saying, ‘Please come to Madrid’, along with the club’s famous motto, ‘Hala Madrid’.

And in a move that infuriated many Manchester United fans, Pogba ‘liked’ the post – just as Nemanja Matic did a few days ago with a comment criticising Solskjaer for not playing the Serbian midfielder more often.

Man Utd fans weren’t happy…

Pogba is still believed to want to move to Madrid and is stalling on signing a new contract at Old Trafford.

He would only have one year left on his deal next summer, putting Real in the driving seat in any negotiations with United.

Speaking about his future after United’s opening day win over Chelsea, Pogba told RMC Sport: ‘There have been words, the future will tell us… we still remain on this question.

‘But I’m in Manchester, I’m having fun with my teammates, I want to win matches. I will always give my all when I’m on the pitch.’
