Man Utd ‘will get Kieran Trippier deal done’ as details over personal terms emerge

Manchester United will get a deal for Kieran Trippier ‘done’, it has been claimed. The Atletico Madrid star is on the Red Devils’ radar as the close of the transfer window edges closer. And a move to Old Trafford, it seems, is still on the cards.

Manchester United ended last season on a low note, losing to Villarreal in the Europa League final.

But they’ve bounced back this summer, securing deals for three players so far.

Tom Heaton was the first player to arrive, with the former Aston Villa star poised to keep Dean Henderson and David De Gea on their toes in the goalkeeping department.

Jadon Sancho then followed, with the England international moving from Borussia Dortmund in a £73million deal.

And they’ve since clinched an agreement in principle for Raphael Varane, with the Real Madrid star poised to become their third arrival of the transfer window.

Now, attentions are fixed on signing a midfielder and a right-back.

Trippier is a bonus signing for United.

They’re admirers of the Atletico Madrid star for his versatility, with the 30-year-old capable of playing on both sides of the defence.

They also rate his experience, with the former Tottenham and Burnley star performing at the highest level for club and country over the past two years.

And United believe the arrival of Trippier can galvanise Aaron Wan-Bissaka, too.

The former Crystal Palace star’s defensive talents are unquestionable but, going forward, he still has much to learn.

And all signs point to United landing Trippier, making him their fourth summer signing in the process.

Speaking recently, meanwhile, QPR striker Charlie Austin urged United to sign Trippier amid doubts over whether Wan-Bissaka is good enough for the club.

“Aaron Wan-Bissaka is not up to the [required] quality,” he said.

“We played them the other day, and I know it was only a pre-season friendly, but they need to go all out for Kieran Trippier.

“That’s who they’re crying out for. He [Aaron Wan-Bissaka] can’t defend!

“His final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants. They need to go and sign Kieran Trippier.”

When Ray Parlour grilled Austin over whether Wan-Bissaka’s performance was just a bad day, Austin then added: “You can always have a bad game, it was just a pre-season friendly.

“With all due respect, if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is your right-back, are Man United going to go on and win Premier Leagues and win silverware? I’m not too sure.

“They need to strengthen there, definitely.”

United also want to sign a midfielder amid links to Ruben Neves, Eduardo Camavinga, Declan Rice and Saul Niguez.
