Antonio Conte shortlist

Inter Milan are eyeing deals for Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses.

Sky Sports claim former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte will be installed as manager next week and he’s already targeting recruits.

The Italian boss tried to bring Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge but the striker opted for United instead.

He also won the Premier League title with Moses at right wing-back and wants to use the same tactics in Serie A.

Paul Pogba to Real Madrid latest

Manchester United are likely to accept a £160million or more offer for Paul Pogba from Real Madrid.

That’s the opinion of Spanish football expert Guillem Balague who has opened up on the future of the midfielder.

“Let me tell you the latest on Pogba,” Balague said on his YouTube channel. “Zinedine Zidane continues to say he’s the one I want.

“He thinks that he may actually play with two holding midfielders, Casemiro and somebody else in the middle, perhaps Valverde, perhaps another one, and would allow Pogba to play in front of them.

“That will be the plan. So if Real Madrid are serious about it and they want to put £160m plus on the table, I wonder if Manchester United will basically listen.”

Ricky Sbragia axed

Manchester United have begun their backroom shake up with the sacking of reserve boss Ricky Sbragia.

Sbragia was appointed as Under-23 manager in July 2017 but, according to the Mirror has now been axed.

It is also claimed Warren Joyce could be set to return to the club having just left Melbourne City in Australia.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward are looking to revamp much of their current set up and are worried about how far they have fallen behind their rivals at all levels.

Jadon Sancho pursuit over

Jadon Sancho will NOT be joining Manchester United this summer.

That’s according to ESPN FC, who claim the Red Devils have ended their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund star.

The report says that talks between the two parties failed to yield any results with Dortmund demanding between £80-90million to even consider selling the 19-year-old.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will now look for alternative targets.

Gianluigi Donnarumma to Man Utd

Manchester United are preparing to make a move for AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma amid reports David de Gea has turned down the club’s final contract offer.

Donnarumma is under contract until 2024 but his salary, reported to be €6million (£5.3m) a year, could be too expensive to maintain if AC Milan miss out on the financial boosts that come with playing in the Champions League.

Calciomercato reports a bid between €60m (£53m) and €70m (£62m) could be enough to tempt Milan into allowing their young keeper to leave Italy.

Mancheser United’s interest in Donnarumma comes at a time when their own keeper David de Gea turned down the club’s final contract offer, reports The Sun.

Worst value signings

Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku have both been identified as providing the worst value for money among the leading Premier League scorers in 2018/19, according to new research.

A study on behalf of Avec Sport suggests each of Pogba’s goals cost an eye-watering £870,000, based on an estimated £94.5million transfer fee and £290,000-a-week salary.

Lukaku’s figures are not much better, with the Belgian’s 12 goals coming at a shocking £650,000 apiece.

At the other end of the scale, a host of less well-known strikers made their mark this season with substantial hauls while receiving comparatively paltry salaries.
