Man Utd set to be offered Radja Nainggolan and £10m by Inter Milan for Nemanja Matic deal

Manchester United star Matic signed from Chelsea two years ago and has had a mixed time at Old Trafford so far.

The Serbia international enjoyed a solid, if unspectacular first campaign, helping the Red Devils reach the FA Cup final under Jose Mourinho.

But Matic struggled last season as Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League, costing them a place in next season’s Champions League in the process.

And ESPN claim that he is set to hold showdown talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid interest from Italy.

Inter are trying to land United star Romelu Lukaku, with Antonio Conte eager to make him his replacement for Mauro Icardi.

But now they want Matic too.

And the report claims that United will be offered money and Nainggolan in order to let their midfield lynchpin depart.

Nainggolan has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time.

And the Belgium international revealed in 2017 that he had already turned down the chance to strut his stuff in England.

“Chelsea in the summer of 2017 offered me more money than Italy,” the former Roma star said.

“And for sure it is a great club. But I want to wake up in the morning in a place where I feel good, and I did not want to throw away all the respect I have deserved in 12 years in Italy and for which I worked so hard.

“There are so many components to evaluate. There was also Manchester United, but I did not care.

“If you want to watch a football show, you obviously watch the Premier League.

“The stadiums are full, the fields perfect and the rhythms high. In England football is not as tactical as in Italy.

“If they ask me where I want to play, I could say in Premier, but I’ve been here in Italy for so long that I do not need to change anything.”

Solskjaer wants at least two midfielders this summer with Bruno Fernandes and Sean Longstaff in his sights.

But a third may be required if Matic is to jump ship. Whether they get Nainggolan in, though, remains to be seen.
