Man Utd 'ready to move for Eduardo Camavinga' after signing Jadon Sancho

Manchester United are ready to target Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga once they secure the signing of Jadon Sancho.

A deal for the Borussia Dortmund star is close to completion, 12 months after the Red Devils first made moves to sign the winger.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to build on a promising season that saw United finish second by adding more firepower.

Camavinga is highly-rated around Europe and the Premier League giants want to win the race for his signature.

Already the 18-year-old has been capped three times by France and is being tracked by PSG and Real Madrid.

Solskjaer is looking to add a central midfielder and missed out on Jude Bellingham last summer, but Camavinga is viewed as an able alternative, reports the Daily Mail.

Rennes are prepared to cash in rather than risk him losing the youngster on a free.

Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett, the man who also represents Gareth Bale and Jack Grealish, insists they are not short of offers but is determined to make the right decision about his future.

He told AMTV in May: “Believe me we have a lot of offers for this year, a lot of offers, and good ones. I mean top, top clubs.

“We don’t want to rush. There is the right time to move on and playing games is the most important thing at his age.

“He’s probably the best young player in the world. He has just turned 18.

“He’s an unbelievable talent. He could play in any team in the world. He is still going to be a great talent at 19. It’s not that old you know, 19.”

Back in September, when it became clear that interest was mounting, Camavinga conceded that he was keeping his feet on the ground despite being honoured by the admiring looks.

“Certainly when a big club are interested, it is nice. But I am not getting carried away,” he said.

“I took this choice with my family [to stay at Rennes]. We are happy to have made this decision. I just need to focus on football and not think too much about everything else around it.”

United are also looking to add a centre-half as they aim to reduce the gap to rivals and champions Manchester City.

Liverpool and Chelsea are also expected to come back stronger in the coming year meaning the Red Devils will have their credentials firmly tested.

The signing of Sancho will certainly be a statement of intent by those at Old Trafford.

A deal worth around £80m is set to be ironed out in the coming days with finer details still needing to be agreed.
