Man Utd 'meeting with Camavinga entourage' after agent gives deal green light

Manchester United are meeting with teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga’s entourage next week to thrash out a deal, according to reports from France.

The Rennes starlet has attracted attention from a number of top clubs in recent months after bursting onto the scene in Ligue 1 and representing France in the Nations League.

The Red Devils are keen to act fast to snap him up before another club does after young England international Jude Bellingham snubbed Manchester United for Bundesliga giants Dortmund.

United want to complete a transfer for Jadon Sancho first, with personal terms agreed between the forward and the Red Devils.

The Old Trafford club just needs to agree on a price with Dortmund for the sale of Sancho, but this is expected to go through soon – perhaps even before the end of the Euros.

According to French publication RMC, United are ready to meet with Camavinga’s entourage as early as next week.

Rennes are believed to be open to selling the midfielder this summer as they are guaranteed a transfer fee for him.

Camavinga is out of contract in June 2022 and Rennes do not want to see the 18-year-old leave on a free.

Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett discussed his client earlier this year and admitted he would likely be the subject of some huge bids in this summer’s transfer window.

“It is going to be harder. I’m expecting three or four very big deals of my own that will break a lot of records,” Barnett told the Athletic.

“Hopefully, they’ll come about. For the smaller clubs, I think there won’t be as many transfers. We have some very good players.

“We have probably the best young player in the world in Camavinga. We’ve got [Jack] Grealish. We’ve got [Ibrahima] Konate at Leipzig. But then I’ve got over 100 players.”

Camavinga, though, is yet to give any clear indication of what his future has in store for him.

Back in September, he said: “Certainly when a big club is interested, it is nice. But I am not getting carried away.

“I took this choice with my family [to stay at Rennes]. We are happy to have made this decision. I just need to focus on football and not think too much about everything else around it.”
