Man United reach agreement to sign Alex Telles in £18m deal

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Porto over the transfer of Alex Telles.

The Red Devils have been chasing the left-back for several weeks but look to have settled on an €20m (£18m) fee.

Telles is set to have his medical on Sunday night as United attempt to get some new faces through the door before Monday’s deadline.

He will provide competition for Luke Shaw who has been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first choice in that position.

Telles’ desire to force through the move to Manchester has been crucial in the breakthrough, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The 27-year-old has spent the last four years at Porto and enjoyed a hugely fruitful season last term scoring 13 times.

United have been heavily criticised for their lack of business with Donny Van de Beek their only summer signing.
