Pep Guardiola’s former side are said to be keen to sign the forward and have offered City several options to conclude a swap deal for the player, according to the latest reports.

It comes on the back of City manager Pep Guardiola praising one of his Premier League rivals’ stars.

Guardiola heaps praise on Rice

Manchester City fans may be hoping the club raids West Ham after Pep Guardiola did not hold back in his praise for Declan Rice, labelling the midfielder an “exceptional player”.

The City boss picked out the Irons vice-captain after City’s 2-1 win over their Premier League rivals amid heavy snow at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking to NBC Sports after the game, Guardiola said: “Declan Rice is an exceptional player.”

Erling Haaland ‘open’ to move

Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland is expected to be one of football’s hottest properties when a £64m release clause kicks in to his contract next summer.

The forward has been linked with clubs across Europe, although reports coming out of his native Norway suggest he could sign for City.

Andreas Korssund [via Sports Illustrated] has reported that the Etihad club are ‘most likely’ to sign the Norway international and that the player is ‘open’ to the move.

City are widely tipped to be in the market for a big-name centre-forward having failed in their efforts to bring England captain Harry Kane to the club last summer.

Barca offer Torres swap

Barcelona have told Manchester City they can have their pick of seven of their players in order to secure a swap deal for Ferran Torres, it is reported.

Mundo Deportivo reports the club are willing to send either Sergino Dest, Sergi Roberto, Clement Lenglet, Oscar Mingueza, Philippe Coutinho, Neto or Samuel Umtiti in the opposite direction.

Barca are said to be keen to secure the City forward although, with the club in a difficult position financially, they are doing all they can to secure the deal with as little money exchanging hands as possible.
