Man City star Raheem Sterling 'left out of captains' group' amid Barcelona transfer links

This term, he’s made just three starts for Man City, completing his first 90 minutes in Saturday’s dismal 0-0 draw against Southampton at the Etihad.

Now in his seventh season with the Premier League champions, Sterling could be tempted by a move overseas either in January or next summer.

With Man City failing to sign a recognised striker in the recently-closed transfer window, he may play most of his minutes as the central striker in the months to come.

But he appears to be behind at least Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres in Guardiola’s attacking pecking order.
