The internet was transfixed this week by the sight of a cat so large it was mistaken for a dog.

Kefir is on track to become the world’s biggest cat, weighing in at a whopping 12.5kg (27lbs).

The oversized puss belongs to Yulia Minina, who lives in the Russian town of Stary Oskol.

At less than two years old, he’s already surpassed the average adult weight for his breed (6.8kg to 11.3kg), and will continue to get bigger until he’s roughly three or four.

But if going to Russia to see him is a little too ambitious, you can check out a Maine Coon in full 3D thanks to the tech wizards at Google.

Like a host of other animals, you can use Google’s 3D animals feature to view the cat through your phone as if it’s in the room with you.

How to view the Maine Coon in 3D

To
use the feature, first you’ll need to make sure you have the right software.

You’ll be using your phone or tablet, so for Android users, Google requires an operating system of Android 7.0 or later.

For iPhone users, you need to be running iOS 11.0 or later.

Now, to see it for yourself, you just need to type ‘Maine Coon’ into the Google app or search page on your device.

Just Google ‘Maine Coon’ and you’ll find the option to view it in 3D (Metro.co.uk)

Just underneath the image search results and the Wikipedia description of the animal, you’ll be able to see a box that says, ‘Meet a life-sized Maine Coon up close’.

Click the ‘view in 3D’ button that will be clearly displayed, then click ‘view in your space’ to see the animal in your own surroundings.

You’ll need to give Google access to your camera for it to be able to insert the animal into your space.
