Mac Miller’s last UK performance saw him duet with ex Ariana Grande at emotional One Love Manchester gig


Mac Miller died after a suspected overdose, aged 26.

And his last performance in the UK saw him duet with ex Ariana Grande at the One Love Manchester concert, last year.

The Swimming rapper joined his then-girlfriend on stage at the concert, which was dedicated to the victims of the terror attack which took place at Ariana’s Dangerous Woman tour date in Manchester.

They delighted crowds with an incredible performance of The Way, last June, before he performed Dang! for fans.

Mac, real name Malcom James McCormick, and Ariana dated for two years, before calling things off earlier this year.

It was said at the time that their hectic schedules was the reason behind their split.

TMZ states the late rapper was found dead at his home in San Fernando Valley, on 7 September.

According to reports, first responders were dispatched to his house, where he was later pronounced dead.

Mac was due to be embarking on a tour of the US next month, following the release of his latest album, Swimming.

One of his last posts on social media showed his excitement at being able to perform for his fans.

Taking to Twitter on 6 September, he told his 8.61million followers: ‘I just wanna go on tour.’

He also revealed how ‘special’ he was planning to make the show, adding: ‘Go get tickets for tour. I’m bringing a band.

‘The show is going to be special every night. I wish it started tomorrow. It starts October 27th.’

Following the news, a string of famous faces – including Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes and Solange – rushed to pay tribute.

‘Rest in your peace Mac Miller,’ Solange tweeted.

‘Always exuded so much kindness and goodness. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us all.’

Ed later posted a sweet snap of the pair together, beside a heartbreaking tribute to the late star.

‘This just really saddened me. I hung out with Mac a few times over the years and he was always such a sweetheart, always had the time of day for anyone, whoever they were,’ he said.

‘As well as being a great talent, he was a great human. Love and prayers to his family and friends. I don’t know what else to say. It’s so heartbreaking.’

Chance The Rapper added that he met Mac ‘at a pivotal time in my life’.
