Lucifer bosses promise karaoke carnage in long-awaited musical episode in season 5

LUCIFER bosses have promised karaoke carnage in the long-awaited musical episode in season five.

The Tom Ellis-led drama is heading into its final season, but that doesn’t mean the producers aren’t willing to try something new.

Episode 10 is slated to be a full-blown musical extravaganza called Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam and will feature a number of songs.

It follows episode four, which has a 1940s noir theme and two musical numbers.

While music has always played a big part in the series, showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson admit they waited a long time before penning an all-out musical episode.

Ildy told Entertainment Weekly: “We wanted to have a real grounded story reason why they’re signing and dancing, and not just, ‘Oh, this is going to be the one where everybody sings and dance.’

“It’s been a little game of Tetris [planning the episode] but it’s super fun. It’s going to be amazing.

“It’s going to be just such a bucket list thing for me.”

However, the bosses are keeping the story details for the episode underwraps at the moment.

It was revealed earlier this month that actor Dennis Haysbert had been cast in the role of God.

God will come face-to-face with his son’s Lucifer (played by Tom) and his favourite child, the angelic Amenadiel.

Joe previously told Entertainment Weekly: “We did like the big crazy list of [possible actors for the part] and he was my top choice.

“We were lucky. It was our first and only offer.”

Lucifer returns later this year.
