Love Island star Amber Gill might just be our hero after clapping back at fat-shaming trolls by proudly admitting to putting on a stone in weight during the long lockdown months.

The reality TV star, who won the ITV2 dating series in 2019, shared a photo of her looking stylish in a casual black vest dressed up with a pair of khaki trousers and sandal heels.

In the caption, Amber revealed she had been receiving nasty comments about her weight gain from TikTok users.

Responding with all the sass, the 24-year-old wrote: ‘Not me on tiktok being fat shamed?! What?

‘First of all we are in a pandemic.

‘Second How do people look so closely that they notice before I even notice ? I’ve been living in hoodies and sweatpants for the whole of this year and ended up putting on a whole stone!’

Haven’t we all? If not, they’ve definitely been doing lockdown wrong.

Opening up about her changing body and eating habits, Amber continued: ‘I can’t lie I was shocked but I cannot cook to save my life so it was takeout breakfast lunch and dinner so I don’t know what I expected And with another lockdown potentially on the horizon it could happen again ?.’

‘I’m sure the people that commented are the image of perfection so thank you for that☺️,’ she clapped back.

Offering encouragement for others in a similar situation, Amber concluded: ‘Whoever put on weight this year don’t worry I’m with you.’

Amber’s former Love Island co-star Elma Pazar left a message of support and commented: ‘Always beautiful.’

Anna Vakili’s sister Mandi added: ‘You’re fine as hell.’

Love Island star Amy Hart said: ‘Love you mate,’ while Belle Hassan praised: ‘You look sexy girlll.’

Just last month, Amber admitted to pretending to be happy on social media during the coronavirus pandemic.

She told OK! Magazine: ‘During lockdown I kind of wanted to be positive for other people when really I was feeling stressed, but I was probably doing that for other people’s sake to boost morale.

‘Subconsciously, I’m posting something and pretending to be happy when I’m not really happy myself, so yeah I’ve definitely done that a couple of times.’

She continued: ‘I think it’s important because for me I’ve got millions of followers and they will listen to me, they think that I’m authentic and that everything I’m saying is the truth and they follow me to see me.

‘So I think it’s really important to be honest with them because even I judge people’s lives from Instagram so I can’t imagine how they feel seeing me living my best life.’
