The 22-year old model and influencer from Fife was booted out of the villa after just 48 hours – the earliest a contestant has ever left the show.
Despite being an early fan favourite Shannon got the text of doom tonight that her time on the show was over after bombshell Chloe Burrows chose to steal Aaron Francis who the Scot had coupled up with.
Shell-shocked Shannon admitted: “I am a bit gutted. Do you know what, out of all the girls, I think it is fair it’s me because I didn’t have any emotional attachments to the guys, but all the girls had tiny little things (going on).”
Laughing she added: “My group chat is going to be called ‘three episodes’.”
Asked to sum up her time in the villa the Scot said: “Very short lived! Surreal, but I’m obviously very grateful I got the opportunity. I’m not coming away fuming from it, I’m coming away grateful.”
Shannon’s dumping so early on is a huge twist to the usual Love Island goings on. The tension began on Tuesday night’s episode when it was revealed Chloe was going to steal one of the boys leaving one of the original girls flying solo.
Shannon admitted she was taken by surprise – not thinking she’d be stolen from.
She said: “I think a lot of the girls were worried and I wasn’t. I was honestly just like, ‘Whatever’.
“She kept saying (Aaron) is really attractive.
“I knew Chloe was going to take one of the guys. I just can’t believe I forgot there were dumpings. I think all of us forgot there were dumpings. None of us really spoke about it.

“When I read it out Liberty was almost crying, she was like, ‘What?’ I did get a little bit emotional and then I eased up.”
Although Aaron picked Shannon to couple up with on the first episode she admitted there’s wasn’t any physical attraction.
She said: “We had a few chats and it was a bit like trying to get blood out of a stone with him. He’s a really, really nice guy but he’s just a bit too laid back for me.”
Backing Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole to “stand the test of time”, Shannon is circumspect about leaving the show and wants to “keep doing me” by going back to streaming, have a girlie holiday and spend “a good couple of months sussing out what I want to do.”
* Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.
