“I wish I could see them, it’s terrible isn’t it? I haven’t seen her for ages,” she told Dr Hilary Jones and fashion expert Mark Heyes.

“Everybody is the same though. Zoom calls galore today.

“We will see each other. It’s like we keep saying.

“We have to scale it down for this year but wow are we going to make up for it next year?

“My wee mum, that was so lovely.”

Great British Bake Off’s newhost Matt Lucas also made an appearance and chatted to Lorraine about how they filmed the show during the pandemic.

“It is a dream job and again it was another bright spot for me, that I got to join this big bubble and eat lots of cakes, far too many cakes…it’s so much fun to do,” he said.

“The bakers are lovely. They are the stars of the show. It was just great to make loads of new friends.”

Kylie Minogue also gave an interview and explained how she will be spending Christmas in London instead of Australia this year.

“Paul and I, Christmas tree, food, TV and movies,” she said.

“It’s going to be very emotional to be able to call back home and be able to celebrate with my family at a distance but celebrate nonetheless.

“I’ll pour the wine. This Christmas of all Christmases, I think if you want to dress up, knock yourself out, you deserve it.”
